Aguera Production boards are made of full rap sandwich construction like advanced windsurfers are made. This technology is the best way I feel to make a kite race board. Cores are made of EPS foam and the outside sandwich is made of hard PVC foam.
All boards come in Yellow color only.
Production boards come with 4 powerbox fins for the 4 and 5 fin box models and 3 fins on the tri fin only models.
Each board comes with 4 Aguera footstraps, 3/4 deckpad, gore-tex self maintaining airvent and the hardware to attach the fins and Straps.
Production boards are weighing in at about 12 lbs. or 5.4 kilos with the 3/4 deckpad (weight is without fins and straps). Weights can vary 1/2 lb. (.22 kg) higher or lower.
Powerboxes use one bolt per fin making them easier to align than a tuttle fin box.
Boards are shipped in well packed boxes and domestic (US mainland) shipping is $105.50.
I can also get quotes on shipping to international locations. Here are some of the airport to airport quotes I have received lately (7/31/10)
You must pick up at airport and pay Destination charges on the other side (VAT’S ). These quotes are for the larger board CR 59 from Seattle, WA, USA with LYNDEN INTERNATIONAL
Venice, Italy $250.00
San Juan, PR $131.00
CPH, Denmark $260.00
Warsaw, Poland $290.00
VNO, Lithuania $376.00
London Heathrow $230.00
Belfast, IRE. $215.00
For everyone who is not familiar with these boards please check the other pages on my website!
Here is another description of the boards and bare with me because some of it will be redundant!
The Production boards are $1000.00 introductory offer on the 2 models which are called the CR 53 and CR59.
The difference is width 53 cm vs 59cm.
The Cr 53 is a 3 fin box board that is great for light wind kiting and is better downwind than the CR 59.
The Cr 59 is better upwind being wider so it points higher. My pro guys have been winning all year on the CR 59 in the major courseraces around the world!
The CR 59 can be purchased as a 4 or 5 fin box board. The 5 fin box boards can convert to either a 3 or 4 fin board. Plugs or inserts are put into the open boxes.
Production boards are made of full Sandwich epoxy /eps construction. The production boards come with fins (either 3 or 4 depending on the model) and 4 footstraps.
Fins on production boards are Standard Powerbox fins.
The Custom boards I make are made of a denser/harder EPS and Carbon but are not full sandwich so they dent easier but are a little lighter/stiffer than the production boards. These boards have Tuttle boxes. Custom boards are $1250 for a tri fin, $1300 for 4 fin, and $1350 for a 5 fin box model. Custom boards do not come with the fins or straps. These areĀ sold separately.
Maintenance free Gore-tex Airvent Screw
I have attached a picture of the Gore-tex airvent on my boards. In case you are not familiar with one, this is a maintenance free airvent that will breathe out and not let water in! It is meant to be left alone. The reason for an airvent in general is that the boards are made with EPS foam (styro foam) and this foam is very light and has air inside.
The cap of this airvent rotates about 1/10 of a turn back and forth. This does not mean it is loose! It is only the cap and not the bolt itself which the cap is attached to. The cap rotates because it can be very carefully lifted off with a very small regular screw driver in case the plug gets filled with very fine sand. I recommend to not play with this unless it is obvious it is full of sand. I never play with mine!
The BIG advantage of these plugs is that you do not have to worry about your board blowing up from either altitude or heat problems (both are expansion issues).
Also, If you have any damage to board from shipping, you must declare such in the first 7 days after receiving your board. They are packed very well from the factory though!.Always take a picture of damage to the packaging box and board to be on the safe side.
If you have any questions, please ask me!
I hope you love your boards!
Aloha,
Alex
